About

The Korean-Canadian Scholarship Foundation’s Student Development Committee (KCSF-SDC) was formed in 2001 to serve the growing need for leadership development in our community. Our Team is comprised of dedicated young professionals with diverse backgrounds ranging from finance, accounting to education, medicine and science who came together under the common goal of proactively fostering and helping younger Korean-Canadian generations reach their full potential and achieve their ambitions.

Since our inception, we have held numerous events that promote the growth of young leaders, including career conferences, mentorship programs, internship opportunities, leadership camps and networking receptions. Through these events, KCSF-SDC aims to bring together all generations of the Korean-Canadian community; professionals, young professionals, post-secondary students and high school students. We also provide funding for student run initiatives that aim to serve the needs within the Korean-Canadian community.

Mission

To foster the growth of younger generations in our community through leadership development, career related mentorship and collaboration with other community organizations and professionals.

If you are a young professional or a graduate/professional student who has similar mission as us and are interested in joining us, we would love to hear from you.

SDC's Biggest Annual Events

Career Conference

A recent survey conducted by SDC showed that there is a pressing need for a large scale career conference in the Korean Canadian Community, we are hard at work to bring our famous Career Conference back. The conference has been organized by SDC in the past, boasting attendance of over 100 working professionals in diverse fields and 300 high school and post-secondary students.

Konnect

Konnect is an annual youth leadership camp, designed to provide a meaningful and enjoyable opportunity for high school students. The primary focus of the Konnect Project is on the development of these Korean Canadian youths as future leaders.

Soirée

Soirée is one of the largest networking events in the Korean Canadian community. Soirée is held annually by SDC to give young professionals and postsecondary students an opportunity to network with others in the community and to develop their networking skills. Our last Soirée, held in September 2015, was yet another tremendous success with around 180 participants.
