New Committee Member Selection

 

Purpose:

To select promising individuals who are committed to the goals and mission of the Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation in general, and the Student Development Committee in particular

 

Procedure:

The nominating member will go over the Statement of Principles and Protocol with the nominee. The nominating member will go through the work and expectations of the Committee.

     

  • If the nominee is interested in being a part of the Committee, then he/she will send his/her resume and written responses to our questions (see below).

     

  • The nominating member will send out to the entire Committee the following:
    - The nominees resume;
    - The nominees written responses;
    - A paragraph describing who this person is and why
      he/she would be a good member of the Committee

     

  • The Committee will then decide to tentatively accept or reject this. If this person is tentatively accepted, then the nominee will be invited to the following Committee meeting.

     

  • The nominee will attend the Committee meeting. At the end of the meeting, the nominee will express in person why he or she wants to join, and ask any questions that he or she may have.

     

  • After the meeting, the Committee will decide whether to accept or reject the nominee. The nominee will then be informed of the decision.

  1. Why are you interested in being a part of the Student Development Committee?
  2. What experiences have helped prepare you to be involved with this Committee?
  3. What do you think are some of the most pressing needs among young Korean Canadians?
