Who Can Apply

General Eligibility

To apply for a KCSF scholarship, applicants must:

• Be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited post-secondary institution during the 2026–2027 academic year;

• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or student visa holder;

• Be of Korean heritage or demonstrate a significant and meaningful connection to the Korean community; and

• Not have previously received a KCSF scholarship.

First Year Undergraduate Scholarships

There are three First Year Undergraduate Scholarships: Donald Choi Canada Award of Excellence, Byung Kuk Kim Memorial Scholarship and Nam Soo Kim Family Scholarship. First Year Undergraduate Scholarships are available to students currently in their first year of undergraduate studies who have not completed a previous academic year at a post-secondary institution.

Upper Year Scholarships

There are three Upper Year Scholarships: Sung and Hae Kim Scholarship, Hakyoo Park Humanitarian Award, and Park Family Foundation Leadership Award. Upper Year Scholarships are available to eligible students who have completed at least one full academic year at a post-secondary institution in Canada or abroad.

Scholarship-Specific Eligibility

Some KCSF scholarships have additional eligibility requirements related to academic achievement, financial circumstances, field of study, leadership, community involvement, year of study, or other criteria.

You don’t need to identify which individual scholarships you are applying for. KCSF will consider your application for all scholarships for which you are eligible.
